INJURIES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All injuries will be handled by a certified Trainer! Injuries requiring medical attention will be taken to Palomar Hospital, which is located a few miles from campus. If treatment is needed, parents will be notified immediately by cell phone. At Great Western, our number one concern is for player safety, so we do not allow body checking or over aggressive play at our camp. Medical insurance coverage is the responsibility of the parents. Our camp is fully insured and can be used as secondary coverage. Our carrier is the US Lacrosse Insurance Program handled by the Bollinger, Inc. We have had no serious injuries in our 30 years of operation. We have certified athletic trainers on staff and most of our coaches are CPR & First Aid certified as well. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to call the Director.
CAMP STORE ACCOUNTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Camp Accounts can be set up so your child doesn’t have to travel with cash to camp or handle cash while at camp. An account will be set up so the player can buy items in the camp store throughout the week without having to exchange money which will eliminate any chance of lost or stolen funds. All camp accounts are refundable and the money left at the end of camp will be given to the parent at check-out. If you do not want to wait for your account refund check at check-out, it will be sent to you by mail within 3 weeks. You can set up a camp account at camp check-in.
PLEASE-PLEASE- PLEASE
If you plan to use this service, please feel free to do so. BUT…Please do not put money into an account if the camper is not going to use it. It is not a just in case account. Please tell your son he has an account. If any money is left in the account under $10.00, we will ask you collect it or spend it during check-out. All amount over $10.00 will be refunded by check at check-out or within 3 weeks by check through the mail.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PARENTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Parents are encouraged to attend the game sessions on Saturday and on Sunday morning, as it is a great way to see your son in action against players from around the west. Game schedules can be obtained during check-in at the dormitory. If you do attend his games… Please no negative comments of any kind while watching your son play. As the coaches in camp are constantly teaching and we have only 1 referee, not every call will be made. We at Great Western feel it is important that the parents get involved with their child’s lacrosse experience no matter what age. The more interest you show, the more opportunities he will have to play this great sport and possibly further his education through it.

FINAL COMMENTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you in your interest in a sport that we love so much. It is our quest to provide the best possible teaching medium and training opportunity for all young lacrosse players in the west, no matter what level of experience they may be. Any information and/or ideas that you can give us on how to make the camp better, please feel free to drop us a note anytime during the year. Our main goals are to spread our love, knowledge & enthusiasm of this great sport; work hard to get young players an education through the sport and lastly, get you all hooked!
Thanks you for the support for our Great Western Lacrosse Programs.
